SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION 2017

BOGGI MILANO SPRING SUMMER 2017 COLLECTION

An imaginary tour through the world of menswear, where several generations come together and realising that when it comes to choosing a suit to wear they are not so far apart after all.

This Spring/Summer 2017 season Boggi  has chosen to focus on reinterpretations on a classical theme: essential, geometrical, clean lines, characterised by sumptuous fabrics and state-of-the-art technology, resulting in high-quality and comfortable apparel.

Built on geometrical patterns and streamlined designs the theme of ARCHITEXTURE is developed with a perfect and ordered balance, inspired by boldly-patterned suits. The processed but restrained textures like the sablé-effect: garments made with a sanded fabrics which lends dynamism to more formal outfits. The overchecks are refined with a classic touch, finished in tones of blue.

The elegant and mesmerising world of Made in Boggi suits is enriched by unique stylistic features: the peak lapel on the two-button suit jacket has a slimming effect, adding poise, and the ticket pocket, a British-inspired detail. The fabrics used for the UPPER CLASSIC suits feature luxury threads and technical features making them crease-resistant; the use of Mohair gives the garment a shiny and luminous quality thanks to the properties of its fibres.

The hectic lifestyles which men lead today leave little time for a change of clothes. And stylish attire is de rigueur even AFTER 6.00. Boggi’s solution is to offer both formal and casual looks , appropriate for both office meetings and enjoying an aperitif on a rooftop. Just undo your tie, take your waistcoat off - the key is to play with accessories - let the clothes do the rest.

The colour palette for Boggi-wearing men is enhanced by grey. THAT’S GREY is confident, representing a reliable colour – as solid colour, finished in a light grey colour which avoids turning into Anthracite grey or as Prince of Wales patterned suits, as well as with subtle pinstripe.

The newest styles for this season include the development of the CERIMONIA range which compliments the existing dinner jacket. These are formal clothes suitable for the most important occasions – an understated and classic touch. There are options to customise available – with stylistic details, fabrics, combinations and buttons selected by the experts at the Boggi in-house tailoring department. The three-piece suits stand out thanks to their unostentatious simplicity, with the option of variations using accessories to make them unique and exclusive.

Special attention goes to the Iconic Editions range: classic styles, though the slim-fit, drop 8–  branded BLACK FIT by Boggi. FIRST JOB, aimed at young men on their first day at work, are micro-structured or pinstripe patterned suits. For the older generation who feel more secure in themselves, the slim-fit ranges are lean, with well-defined and sculptured silhouettes. SENIOR AUTHORITY embodies characteristic Italian elegance and premium quality fabrics for discerning men who follow the latest trends.

Tailoring at Boggi is also enhanced by technical sophistication in the ADVANCED TRAVELLER motif. Travel suits made with natural fibres ensure comfort-enhancing performance and increased crease-resistance. These suits do not crease and have nothing to fear from jet lag – they are simply impeccable. They are complemented by outerwear which are likewise technologically enhanced, ensuring freedom of movement: a pea coat and a multi-purpose raincoat made of ‘rain stop’ material with an inside lining including an abundance of pockets: passport holder, iPad holder, loops for ear-phones and key-chains – a truly must-have garment for the traveller.

Boggi is also synonymous with blue. SS 17 collection revisits the canonical Naples Blue, moving towards a dustier, more summery and more sedate tone: DUSTY BLUE is splashed onto formal outfits and Jersey jackets, which hark back to knitwear, in classic designs, made of cotton, ensuring a fresh and comfortable feeling, and silk-cotton with an almost sparkling effect, to be worn next to a swimming pool, with turned-up trousers.

The blazer, this most iconic of men’s apparel  and a key item in an urban wardrobe, brings us to the METROPOLITAN WARDROBE part of the collection, aimed at the man who wants to exude authority and credibility, without having to wear a uniform. Boggi is the choice of the metropolitan man who wants to project his impeccable style over the course of a long day marked by a series of appointments.

As the tour continues we leave everyday urban life and the brand turns its focus to leisure with the part of the collection called 39 #lifestyle. A palette of colours comes to life, ranging from melanges to whites, very light greys, khaki and jungle green and ending in a riot of blue.

The cotton-linen mixed fabric printed shirts, blue Bermuda shorts and cobalt jackets in the DEEP INTO THE BLUE line are inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean islands, from sky-blue to the navy-blue colour of the sea. North Africa, with the pulsating city of Marrakech, are the central inspiration for the printed shirts, evoking memories of the typically Moroccan mosaics and pavements.

The sweatshirts play with the phrases, “CHOOSE LIFESTYLE, SAVE THE SEA, RESPECT!” The design is minimalistic and reflects a man’s desire to choose a lifestyle which is responsible and to shout about it by wearing the right clothes – real and genuine SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
